Agawu Lab
Using epidemiology and data science to measure and improve clinical outcomes
Welcome to the Agawu Lab
We are a research group at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and USC Keck School of Medicine focused on improving clinical outcomes for children with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Our work combines clinical epidemiology, caregiver-centered outcomes research, and data science to understand and address the challenges facing pediatric patients with intestinal failure and their families.
Research Focus
Clinical Outcomes in Pediatric Intestinal Failure
Understanding disease patterns, outcomes, and risk factors in pediatric intestinal failure using detailed clinical phenotyping.
Measuring and Mitigating Caregiver Strain
Measuring and developing interventions to address the burden experienced by families caring for children with chronic complex conditions.
Non-Invasive Measurement of GI Physiology
Developing and validating low-impact methods to assess gastrointestinal function in pediatric patients.
