Welcome to the Agawu Lab
We are a research group at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and USC Keck School of Medicine focused on improving clinical outcomes for children with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Our work combines clinical epidemiology, caregiver-centered outcomes research, and data science to understand and address the challenges facing pediatric patients with intestinal failure and their families.
Research Focus
Clinical Epidemiology
Understanding disease patterns, outcomes, and risk factors in pediatric intestinal failure and related conditions using large-scale data analysis.
Caregiver Strain
Measuring and addressing the burden experienced by families caring for children with chronic complex conditions, with a focus on developing interventions to support caregivers.
Data Science
Leveraging modern analytical approaches including machine learning and advanced statistical methods to extract insights from clinical data.

Dr. Agawu is a pediatric gastroenterologist and clinical epidemiologist whose research focuses on improving outcomes for children with intestinal failure and understanding the experiences of their caregivers.
